Why WordPress? One Main Reason – SEO

There are several good options when it comes to having a website these days. You’ve got some good choices like SquareSpace or Wix. These providers are fine and generally are pretty easy to get up and running. But there is really only one great option. That is WordPress.

Why WordPress?

There are several reasons why WordPress is my platform of choice, but really, I’m just going to get right to the point.

SEO – search engine optimization

SEO is what is going to help your website be found in Google search results. This is essential if you want to get more people to your website, get more customers, more subscribers, more revenue, if that’s your thing. So yeah, kind of important.

WordPress really blows the others away when it comes to the tools available to help boost your SEO. Plugins like Yoast SEO will give you the tools that enables you to do a few important things:

• Create strong custom keyword filled titles for your pages and posts for Google to see, while leaving a more human-friendly title for your site’s visitors.
• Using Yoast you can enter a keyword or phrase that you want the page or post to rank well with Google. Yoast then reviews the content; makes sure you’re using the keyword or phrase enough, but not too much, and in the right places.
• When you share your post to Facebook or Twitter, Yoast SEO allows you to make sure which photo will be displayed as well as what the title will be.

This stuff is incredibly useful, and important.

Other Cool Stuff

WordPress began as strictly blogging software back in 2003. It’s really grown since then and now offers full website design. But it’s still all centered around the blog which gives you an incredibly powerful brand building tool.

WordPress makes it easy to consistently generate new, fresh content. This is another big deal with Google. Google wants to show strong search results to its users. If it sees that your website is constantly showing new content with relevant search terms, Google is more likely to show your site in its results. Again, important stuff.

There are many other reasons why I love WordPress, but I think this is enough for this post.

Unless you’ve got some incredibly unique requirements for your site that might require complete custom coding from the ground up, WordPress is the best platform for your business.
