How To Come Up With Ideas for Content

March 28, 2019 by T.A. Vieira

You know that feeling. You want to sit down and create a new post for your website, but you’re just drawing a blank; you can’t think of anything to write about.

How can you set it up so that you always have ideas for new content?

Here’s the answer…

FAQ

Frequently asked questions. What are the top 10 frequently asked questions you get from customers about your business; about what you do or what you make; what you sell?

Think about it and come up with a list of the most frequently asked questions that you get, and write those down. OK, now you’ve got 10 topics to write about, do a video about, or talk about on your podcast.

Let’s Break it Down

Now take each one of those 10 topics, say, start with the first one. Start making a list of subtopics that would fall under that first topic.

Then move onto the second topic and do the same; then the third topic, then the fourth, the fifth, and so on.

Let’s Keep Going

Now look at each of those subtopics you created and start to list subtopics of those items.

Now you’ve got a huge list of important topics that will provide valuable information to your audience. These topics cover the answers to the questions that your customers are asking you; this is the stuff they want to know.

Creating this list not only gives you a great resource for content ideas, it really gives you the potential to develop yourself as an authority in your field. Man, that is so important when it comes to business.

Wash, Rinse, Repeat

Don’t be afraid to repeat yourself. Sometimes there are only so many important aspects that you need to talk about, regarding your business. So you’ll need to repeat topics. You don’t just say something once and then figure, well I’ve already talked about that. No, repetition is the way people learn. Repetition is the way you can help people know more about what you do.

So yeah, repeat your topics as much as you need to. Maybe just think of different aspects, different perspectives on how to approach the same topic.

So… make this list and you will have an endless supply of ideas for your content.

Have fun!
