Creating content for your business is essential. The Internet makes it possible for everyone to play. If you don’t take advantage of that, you will slowly see your business losing traction.
Yeah man, creating quality content consistently is crucial to the success of your business, that’s true.
But the cool part is, it’s never been easier.
It’s about the value of the content, over the quality of the production level.
Don’t stress out so much about the production level of your content. What’s primarily important is, does it bring value to those who consume it?
If you’ve got a reasonably recent version of a smart phone you’ve got the tools to get started.
Video
Create videos for YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. You might decide to move onto a dedicated video camera later on, but the cameras on these phones are amazing these days. Definitely good enough to get started.
Audio
One tip about creating video, the quality of audio/sound is even more important than the visual quality of the video. People will put up with poor video quality longer than put up with poor audio quality.
Podcasting
The coolest thing about podcasting is it’s what I’m going to refer to as non-committal media. If you’re going to consume a video it means your attention needs to be on the screen. People listening to podcasts can be doing anything else at the same time and still consume the content.
There are apps out now for your phone or tablet that you can use to start your podcast easily. Again, you might want to choose to set up a little more sophisticated platform further down the road, but your phone can definitely get you started.
Running a Successful Blog for Your Business
Written content is incredibly valuable. That is content that Google can actually index and know what you’re talking about.
But maybe you don’t like to write. Not a problem. I’m creating this post during a walk, and using the WordPress app on my iPhone, I’m just speaking into the phone and it’s dictating the article for me.
I really dislike spending a lot of time sitting in front of a computer if I don’t have to. Using this app on my phone makes it much more enjoyable; I get the articles done quicker; so I am more apt to generate more content, more often. Important stuff.
